Primarily a plein air painter Abigail’s work captures the seascapes and landscapes of Dorset. With her characteristic loose brush marks, she records the fleeting effects of light captured in the moment, to create fresh visions of the county she calls home. Abigail grew up on the Island of Portland in a family where creativity was always encouraged. She studied Foundation in Art at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design and then graduated from The University of Brighton with a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting. She now lives in the heart of Dorset and the surrounding rolling hills are often featured in her paintings. Her artwork has been selected for several juried exhibitions including the Dorset Open and the Sherborne Open. Amongst her awards are winner of Art in The Park at Poole 2026 and overall winner of The Gallery Upstairs Open 2025. Abigail is also a potter and creates pieces inspired by her childhood on the Isle of Portland. She is currently working on a project to preserve the colloquial Portland dialect. Abigail regularly exhibits and is always happy to discuss commissions. If you would like to keep up to date do follow on Facebook or Instagram.
