Region North East
I am a self-taught artist living and working in Dorset, where the surrounding countryside provides an endless source of inspiration. From wild hedgerows and ancient woodlands to the shifting colours of the fields and the dramatic coastline, I am drawn to the beauty, character and unexpected details of the natural world. Working across textiles, pastels and paint, I explore colour, texture and the possibilities of different materials. My practice is rooted in curiosity and experimentation. Colour is central to everything I do. I love the unexpected combinations found in nature, from the vivid intensity of wildflowers to the quieter, more mysterious tones of woodland and weathered landscapes. I am equally fascinated by texture, pattern and the ways different materials can transform an idea. As a self-taught artist, I continue to discover, learn and challenge myself. I have no desire to be confined to a single medium or approach; instead, I enjoy following ideas wherever they lead, allowing my work to evolve through experimentation and play. For me, making art is an ongoing journey of discovery, a way of looking more closely at the world and finding new ways to express its colour, character and beauty.
