I am a full time professional artist based in Poole, Dorset. I have always been preoccupied with light and colour, finding endless fascination in the way they transform the world around us. I draw inspiration from any artist who captures or manipulates these elements with sensitivity and skill.
Because colour and light exist within every possible subject—and each demands its own unique visual response, I resist the idea of having a single distinctive style or rigid process. Whilst much of my work is landscape-based, I do not define myself strictly as a landscape painter, but simply as a painter responding to what he sees.
I try to approach each piece with an objective eye when drawing out its structure, while allowing the act of painting itself to remain instinctive and subjective—a joyful, often messy, and non-linear process. My aim is not to impose deeper meanings but to share an honest, painterly response to the visual moment that first captured my attention. I hope that viewers experience the same sense of connection and delight that inspired the work in the first place.
