Volunteer at The Sherborne

Volunteer at The Sherborne

Would you like to find out more about volunteering at Dorset’s newest cultural venue? Sherborne House Trust requires help to look after the galleries, gardens and assist with the event programme at The Sherborne. It’s also an opportunity to help Dorset Visual Arts who deliver the main exhibition programme and other cultural events and activities on site.

By getting involved, you could:

  • Spend time in the historic Georgian and medieval parts of Sherborne House
  • Get to know The Sherborne and the charitable aims of the project, develop and share your knowledge
  • Be part of a varied and enthusiastic team and form new friendships
  • Gain experience in storytelling and visitor welcome
  • Support the delivery of the arts programme with other opportunities including helping with private views and curation

Home to the nationally important Thornhill Mural, volunteering at The Sherborne has a range of benefits including working closely with a team who are responsible for promoting the arts, with priority access to artists and curators talks, helping with curatorial tasks and other opportunities around the delivery of the art programme. It’s a unique opportunity to belong to a cultural community.

The Sherborne are looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to join the team, in a range of roles to suit varying skills and interests, with full training provided.

If you are interested in finding out more or to register your interest for volunteering please email [email protected] or visit The Sherborne's website
