The Sherborne - Now Open!

The Sherborne - Now Open!

‘Housework’, the inaugural public launch exhibition at The Sherborne is now fully open. Also known as Sherborne House, The Sherborne officially opened its doors on Tuesday 7th May after an extensive and meticulous restoration. Come and celebrate this major new arts venue for the south west!

The whole site is finally open to the public including not only the gallery spaces and sculpture garden, but also the bistro, restaurant and shop, and access to the nationally important Thornhill Mural.

We are expecting a high volume of visitors to the House and gallery spaces. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, please book a time slot via our brand-new booking system. Book your visit on The Sherborne’s website.

‘Housework’ celebrates the history, and the many links between Sherborne House (as it was formerly known) and the arts. The show brings together some of the work created between 1996 and 2008, inspired by and documenting its past. The exhibition has been curated by Amanda Wallwork, in association with Evolver Magazine.

Exhibition includes work by Amanda Wallwork, Balint Bolygó, Elisabeth Frink, Jane Borodale, Jane Burden, Jenni Cadman, Joe Stevens, Karen Hitchlock, Kirsten Cooke, Peter Freeman, Stig Evans, Tim Burrough, and Zoë Barker.
