Housework - Meet the Artists and Curator

Housework - Meet the Artists and Curator

Dorset Visual Arts invite you to join us on Friday 17th May, 3-6pm, at The Sherborne to meet some of the artists exhibiting in our launch exhibition Housework. Come and explore the gallery spaces in the Georgian and medieval parts of the building, as well as our Sculpture Garden, curated by Sandy Kirkby, featuring works from south west artists.

There will also be the opportunity to meet Amanda Wallwork, the curator of Housework. Amanda was artist in residence at Sherborne House in 2003 and went on to become Artistic Director for Sherborne House Arts working with a team of artists to develop the arts programme until the House closed in 2008.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the recent history of the House and the many links between Sherborne House and the arts, bringing together some of the work created between 1996 and 2008, inspired by and documenting its past. The exhibition has been curated by Amanda Wallwork, in association with Evolver Magazine.

We will be joined by artists Jane Burden, Jenni Cadman, Kirsten Cooke, Tim Burrough, Zoe Barker, and curator Amanda Wallwork.

This is a free event but booking is required, last entry 5pm. Please visit The Sherborne’s website to book

Housework is open Monday - Friday 10am-5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm.
