Welcome to Our New Trustees
26 November 2024
Dorset Visual Arts is pleased to announce the appointment of four new trustees to our board. All four trustees bring with them a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise and will support our existing board to manage Dorset Visual Arts and its activity. Joining our current board of trustees will be Claire Mason, Graham Booth, Karen Hawey, and Sarah Titheridge.
Claire Mason has extensive experience teaching and managing Art and Design Departments, in a variety of institutions, for over 20 years. Currently she is employed part time as Artist/Curator in an educational environment aiming to create exhibitions with a learning focus. She has a MA in Fine Art and continues to be a practising artist. Her own work adopts a phenomenological approach, utilising a wide variety of media and processes.
Graham is a freelance marketing consultant, specialising in qualitative creative and strategic development research. Graham started his career in London advertising agencies over 40 years ago and ran his own research business for 17 years, before going freelance in 2008 so that he could move to Dorset with his wife and 4 young children. He has had a lifelong love of the arts and culture, with an active interest in contemporary music, dance, cinema and fine art. He is a keen photographer and has shown his work in the last two Dorset Arts Weeks festivals.
Karen Hawey is an experienced marketing and fundraising professional with over a decade of success in driving income, growth and engagement across both corporate and non-profit sectors. Specialising in strategic marketing, donor relations, and campaign development, Karen has a proven ability to connect organizations with their audiences and secure vital funding. Passionate about equity, inclusion, and supporting emerging talent, she is dedicated to advancing the mission of Dorset Visual Arts. Outside of work, Karen is a keen potter, an arts advocate, and volunteers for a charity supporting people in prison.
Sarah Titheridge has worked as an art technician for prominent galleries, museums, artist's studios, shipping and handling companies, and collections in the UK and abroad for over 20 years. She created and runs ArtTechSpace which is an art technical advocacy organisation that shares jobs and vocational information, delivers training programs, and runs social networking events. She also set up and chairs the Art Technician branch of the BECTU union.
We are so excited to be working with them to deliver our charitable aims and support our Members.
