Season’s Greetings from Dorset Visual Arts

2025 has been a remarkable year for Dorset Visual Arts. We want to thank you for your support and engagement with our work. This has enabled us to deliver many important new initiatives, providing meaningful opportunities for many Dorset Creatives and new experiences for cultural audiences.

A quick look back on this year’s highlights!

Jan -  Where You Find Your Self - A DVA Group exhibition at Sherborne House

February - our first DVA Social supported by Dorset Art Weeks headline sponsor, Hall & Woodhouse, with others in Shaftesbury and Swanage

March -  Bind - A DVA Group exhibition at Sherborne House

April -  Biophilia - a collaboration with Dorset County Hospital and The Arborealists, which travelled to Royal United Hospital Bath

May -  In Our Nature - A DVA Members’ exhibition, focussing on the Climate and Ecological Emergency, at Durlston Country Park

June -  Yeovil College end of year Creative Showcase at Sherborne House

Summer - Droves & Downs - bursaries awarded to 4 artists to make work about Cranborne Chase in partnership with Cranborne Chase National Landscape and supported with funding from Dorset Council

September - Dorset Art Weeks announced as an annual event, with a new website

October - The Dorset Open - a major new opportunity for artists and partnership with Dorset Museum & Art Gallery. Supported by other cultural partners including Arts in Hospital, Dorchester Arts, Evolver Magazine, Close Ltd, Mount Ltd and The Sherborne Times 

November - Droves & Downs exhibition at Shaftesbury Arts Centre

December - we ran 4 Masterclass sessions throughout the year with Gillian Taylor PR, supporting artists with a variety resources and training on marketing
