Dorset Visual Arts is pleased to announce the first exhibition of our Emerging Artist Project Group at Wirth Gallery, The Merritt Centre. The exhibition is open by appointment from Monday 19th February to Thursday 7th March with an Opening Night on Friday 1st March, 5.30pm - 7pm. The exhibition includes work by artists Emma Rhys Thomas, Fiona Kenny, Helen Frost, Izzie Jobbins, Lillie Ayres, Miranda Lailey, and Sue Parr, all members of the Emerging Artist Project Group. It’s an exciting look at their recent work and experimental approaches and includes paintings, sculptures and installations. Many of the artists are inspired by their environment including Dorset.

The Emerging Artist Project Group brings together early career artists, some who have recently graduated from BA or MA degrees. The artists work in different mediums and styles, and meet to support each other and share ideas.

Organised in partnership with Sherborne Girls, the exhibition is being curated by artist Izzie Jobbins, Emerging Artist Group Lead, Dorset Visual Arts and artist Lillie Ayres, Artist and Curator in Residence, Sherborne Girls.

The Wirth Gallery is located in The Merritt Centre, Sherborne Girls, Bradford Rd, Sherborne, DT9 3QN. Parking is available at Oxleys Sports Centre across the road. Once arrived, please follow signs to The Merritt Centre.
