Tina Peacock
Abstract Expressionist paintings
"My expressionist abstract paintings captures a moment in time, very much inspired by a sense of place, the natural world, poetry and music. Expressed through the colour palette or perhaps in the composition or mark making. Quick, short brush strokes or longer contemplated blocks of colour. Line work, scraping back, spraying and flicking. Every mark is considered, if only for a brief second. If a ‘scape of some sort emerges then I embrace it but I prefer an abstract response in paint formed by energy or vibration. A bit like an electrocardiogram. A unique moment in time that captures my heartbeat and the electrical impulses sent around my body. Impossible to replicate." Growing up in Falmouth, Cornwall and moving to Dorset in 1998, Tina draws inspiration from the natural elements that surround her. Intrigued by colour, texture and form, her paintings capture the essence of a place. Tina works on location and from her art studio near Poole Quay in Dorset. Working in acrylics, watercolours and mixed media, Tina has exhibited throughout Dorset and formerly worked as a resident artist at Walford Mill Crafts in Wimborne. She is a selected exhibiting artist at Bath Contemporary Artists Fair and is working towards a series of work to be exhibited across the UK later in 2023.
