Suzanne Langley

profile picture

Suzanne Langley is a contemporary artist based in Christchurch, Dorset, working primarily in oils and mixed media. Her semi-abstract, experimental approach is deeply influenced by the natural world, particularly the coastal landscapes of southern England. Atmospheric effects, luminosity, and the ever-changing dialogue between land, sea, and sky play a central role in her work. A former graphic designer, Suzanne brings a strong foundation in colour theory and composition to her practice. This background informs her confident use of tone, texture, and structure across her painterly surfaces. Her work often explores the emotional resonance of place, capturing fleeting moments shaped by weather, light, and movement. Suzanne has exhibited widely and is the recipient of several exhibition awards. Her work is held in private collections across Europe and Japan, and she is currently represented by a gallery in Poole, Dorset. In August, she will be showing a new body of work at a gallery in Christchurch. This latest series investigates the subtle interplay of colour in the landscape and ocean, responding to shifting weather patterns and natural rhythms. A prolific creator, Suzanne finds painting both therapeutic and deeply rewarding. Her work has been featured in Artist Close Up magazine, where her unique voice and evocative style have drawn attention from collectors and curators alike.
