Podi Lawrence
A people painter - café scenes, life drawing, musicians, dancers, portraits - mixing it up and experimenting with different media to produce emotion, letting it flow. A full time painter and educator for more than 30 years. Residencies with the Swan Theatre, High Wycombe, English National Ballet, the Canadian Waterloo Jazz Festival and other dance and music companies; Winner of Bronze Medal at the 1994 Paris Salon; Selected by Prince Charles for the 1997 Discerning Eye. Exhibited widely in London, Paris, Germany, Canada, USA and Panama. Expert with oils, acrylics, watercolour, pastels and drawing mediums. An inspiring teacher since 1990 at colleges, adult education establishments and painting vacations in the UK, Canada and France. Now lliving in Portland, Dorset and offering 1:1 tuition to enthusiastic students, and painting weekends in 2016 at the Heights Hotel, Portland. Also available for demonstrations or workshops to art groups. Finalist in the Drawing section of the Artist of the Year 2014 competition run by the Society of All Artists.
