Hand-Built Ceramics
I am a multicultural artist with a foundation in Holistic Counseling and a deep passion for creative expression. My journey with ceramics began as part of my exploration into art therapy, but what started as a therapeutic practice quickly became a transformative and fulfilling passion. I initially took a few casual lessons to learn the basics, but before long, I was completely captivated by the craft. My early creations—pots made for myself, my friends, and my family—became a joyful celebration of the beauty of handmade art. Much of my inspiration comes from India’s stunning architectural heritage and the vibrant energy of tribal art. I love blending intricate linework with the geometric patterns found in temples, monuments, and palaces, creating pieces that reflect a harmony between traditional influences and contemporary techniques. I often use slab building and coiling methods, adding detailed surface decorations to bring stories to life through my work. I have a particular love for the Sgraffito technique, where I use slips, underglazes, and oxides to turn my imagination into tangible, one-of-a-kind creations. Each piece I make has its own essence and character, celebrating culture, creativity, and the timeless joy of creating something by hand. For me, every work is more than just a piece of art—it’s an expression of who I am and the inspirations that fuel me.
