Visual stimulation from different surroundings, colour combinations from nature or photographic images, even a piece of fabric can create ideas for inclusion in a painting. She enjoys the vibrant colours, light and brightness of the Mediterranean, Australia, or the fascination of fishing boats in the West Country. Moira has a compulsive desire to paint, create, make marks and produce vivid and expressive work. She uses lively surface texture and intense colours. She endeavours to capture the essence of a place or subject and is not restricted with realism. Moira is also making glass fused paintings, dishes and jewellery. Her glasswork is often a reflection of her paintings.
