Lisa Riot
A multi-disciplinary visual artist, Riot explores humanity predominantly through the medium of photography, painting and sculpture. Subject matters include the body, interconnectedness and psychology and her work is often visceral. Language also plays a key role, in both form and meaning, both poetic and polemic. Previous works have explored identity. Her current focus is upon fragility and strength through both image and materiality. Riot likes to traverse the real and the surreal, often looking for hidden meanings, symbols and semiotics. Her fascination with spirituality often shows through in her work as does her interest in both psychoanalysis and nature.
