Katy Hill
Multimedia artist
Katy Hill is a multimedia artist, who trained at the University of the Arts, London. Katy works in a range of media, including digital, oil, watercolour, ink, charcoal and pencil, as well as collage; and is as happy with figurative work or portraits as abstract art. Katy is an active member of Dorchester Art Club, where, in 2024, she won two art club prizes - for an ink drawing of her beloved Sprollie dog, Broccoli, and a Christmas card design of a robin in the snow. 'Broccoli the Sprollie' was later selected for exhibition at the Sherborne Open Exhibition, in 2025. Katy is also a member of the Blandford Art Society and a regular attendee of life-drawing classes facilitated by local artist and teacher Jack Dixon. Earlier in 2025, she was commissioned to create 15 bespoke artworks in a range of media for The Anvil Inn, Pimperne, Dorset, which is her largest commission yet. Katy takes her inspiration from the nature and environment of rural North Dorset and its workers, as well as broader issues relating to climate change and conservation. As well as a degree in Social Anthropology she holds an MSc in Sustainable Development, which also influences her choice of materials and subjects. Having lived in cities in the UK and in Portugal and travelled widely, Katy now lives and works from her studio on a farm and is the proud owner of two beautiful Lusitano horses, which she also competes with at Iberian horse shows.
