ABOUT THE ARTIST Kate E Randall is an artist specialising in the creation of fully bespoke Mandala Mirrors. Formerly based in Walford Mill in Wimborne Minster, Kate now works from her studio located in Ferndown. During her global travels, Kate fell in love with the architecture, mosaics, the colours, textures and patterns that she witnessed along the way – it was an experience that touched her soul and ignited her passion to create and share joy through art. From the patterned Persian carpets, the radiant golden domes and statues, to the vibrant colours of the sky, sea and desert sands – the beauty and optimism of this life-changing journey was something Kate wanted to explore further in her art. As an established portrait artist, Kate already understood that to create any art of worth, an artist needs to study their subject, dig deep and look into their soul. So, when Kate learnt more about the history behind the incredible Mandalas that were prevalent in so many of the places she visited – there was an instant connection. With the opportunity to learn more from inspiring artists she met on her travels – and to have the freedom to try new things without the fear of making mistakes – Kate immersed herself in the almost meditative craft of creating a Mandala. Her first piece incorporated turquoise, oranges and yellows – colours and textures that represented her love of the ocean, the amazing sunsets and the beautiful beaches and desert sandsshe experienced on her journey. The finished result… a feeling of joy! When Kate is commissioned to create a bespoke Mandala, she works closely with her client to give them a voice through the design, creating something that truly reflects their personality, what they love – or that of the person it is being gifted to. The details, the materials, the textures, the shapes – every element is meticulously crafted to connect, to touch the soul, to bring joy. Each Mandala is designed to speak volumes through the language of art. Kate still has a passion for traditional portraiture and also offers a beginners course in getting started in art. __________________________________
