Joan Scott
Painting in acrylic, plus mixed media/collage
Joan’s work is inspired by the local countryside and coast. To her, drawing is an important creative skill - sometimes the results are used as a basis for painting. Joan’s love of colour and texture is evident in her mixed media paintings - she paints what she feels rather than what she sees, letting the painting lead the way so its creation becomes a journey of discovery until the final image emerges. Joan studied Fine Arts at the Arts Institute, Bournemouth (now AUB). She was a winner of the CADarts Open Exhibition, and has had paintings selected for Exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, London (Discerning Eye and Society of Women Artists) and the RWA, Bristol. Her work is in private collections around the world.
