Hugh Dunford Wood

Hugh Dunford Wood lives in Lyme Regis overlooking the sea. He has worked as an artist designer since his student days in the 1970s at the Ruskin School of Art in Oxford. He paints landscapes and portraits; he designs textiles, crockery and wallpapers (www.handmadewallpaper.co.uk). And he has developed the unique Collino print series. Hugh is a member of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen and The Chelsea Arts Club, and is a Senior Tutor at West Dean College. Artist in Residence variously at The Royal Shakespeare Company, he was also at the Globe Theatre in London when it first opened, and at The Museum of Bermuda Art to mark of the 400th anniversary of settlement. He enjoys working with professionals in other disciplines and cultures. Hugh is also keen to demystify the arts, co-founding the first Open Studio Weeks in Britain in 1984, in Oxfordshire, and the Lyme Regis ArtsFest in 2003. He curates the pop-up National Gallery of Lyme Regis for Dorset Arts Weeks. Inspired by his mentor Peggy Angus, Hugh loves to engage others and exchange skills & experience. Collino collage prints, linocut and engraved. Handprinted wallpaper and linen textiles to commission to your own colour scheme. Everything can be seen in the Lyme Studio by arrangement.
