Holly Norris
I am a textile artist and printmaker, based in Dorchester with exhibiting space on Portland. I am currently studying part time with the Open College of the Arts towards a degree in textiles. I am also a doctor. I will be exhibiting for Dorset Art Weeks for the first time this year. My prints are in a variety of styles, expressing my interests and travel. My textiles pieces are more conceptual exploring the senses and emotional states, influenced by my own history and experiences of working in healthcare. My current collection of textile "Soundscapes' are felt and stitch structures on metal armatures that have arisen from my research on synaesthesia, a condition where people are able to see sound as colours. My aim was to build a visual, textural representation of music.
