"What excites me about looking at plants is that in their silent way they are always moving; movement that is inherent in their structure, a structure that gives echoes of what has gone on before and hints of what is to follow, hints and echoes that leave a mystery for us to fathom how we will." www.helensimpsonartist.co.uk Helen studied art at Banbury College of Art, then at the Royal Academy Schools, London. She regularly shows her work and has had exhibitions in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Gloucestershire, Dorset and London, the most significant being Kew Gardens Gallery, in Kew Gardens London, where she had 30 pictures on show. Solo exhibitions have been at Exbury Gardens in the New Forest, Oxford Botanic Gardens and Wolfson College Oxford 2017. Her most recent major solo exhibition "Petal Poise" was held at The Malthouse Gallery, East Lambrook Manor Gardens, East Lambrook, South Petherton, Somerset TA13 5HH in 2021 Helen teaches pottery part time and leads art workshops. She moved down from Grimsby to Dorset in 2005. She is a member of Wessex Contemporary Arts, WESCA and the Dorset Salon.
