Gill Smeulders
I'm an old bird living in a Dorset village with an inherant love of arts, crafts and vintage. I started making jewellery when losing my job through illness provided me with time to try out different crafts - I now work in my summer house, constantly learning and evolving and loving every minute. I also handprint 'quote' greetings cards, including a handmade button to link to my jewellery - some subtly humorous, others gently soulful. Working within as eco friendly an ethic as I'm able I blend handmade, recycled, sustainable and fairtrade buttons and beads, combining them with vintage finds and either silver or copper. Texture, colour and balance are my passion and inspiration comes from everything I see and feel. Handcrafting each piece gives them that quality of imperfection that makes them special - each piece has a story to tell. Gill x
