Frances Pollard
Corfe Castle Pottery
Frances Pollard is a potter with an enthusiasm for decoration. She enjoys exploring colour and patterns in nature, textiles and the surrounding coastal environment through surface decoration on the pots. New themes continue to be developed. All pots are thrown on the wheel and decorated by hand before being fired to stoneware. Each piece is individually decorated using brush, slip-trailer, sponges and wax-resist. A selection of her work can be seen in the showroom above her workshop. Frances studied at Bretton Hall College, part of the University of Leeds. She gained further experience training at Dartington and Selborne Potteries in this country and also in Switzerland, Finland and Australia.
