Felice Hodges
abstract art
Felice's abstract paintings on canvas and paper are executed using a variety of techniques including collage. Works vary from small intimate images to large scale pictures. Her bold use of colour reflects both the Cornish painters such as Roger Hilton and the American colourists Helen Frankenthaler, Milton Avery and Richard Diebenkorn. Following several successful solo exhibitions since 2017 (all with published catalogues written, for example, by Robert Upstone, ex-director of Tate Britain; and the art curator Dr. Ian Massey) three new solo shows are scheduled for 2024/25 in London, Salisbury and Wales. Felice's bronze sculptures are produced in small, limited editions, mainly showing abstract figures and geometric shapes. New work includes garden sculpture. Her work is in many private collections in the UK and USA, as well as Richmond Borough Council.
