Claire Tozer
Claire Tozer lives within the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, UK. Her paintings are a response to her immediate natural environment. Many of Claire’s observations are made from her travels on horseback, giving her a unique ‘between the ears’ perspective of the surrounding countryside and coast she loves to ride through and paint. Claire’s paintings are created from a culmination of the ‘gathered moments’ of light, colour and texture across the land and sea she feels compelled to record whilst she is outdoors, including the livestock and wildlife that inhabit them. Using deft, colourful and impressionist brushstrokes, Claire’s paintings express the energy of her subject and capture the atmosphere she feels in that moment in time.
