Claire Hankinson
Abstract and figurative Painting
Claire’s work captures the abstracts of light, colour, and shape of her subjects - whether of the sea, land or objects. Working in oils mainly on wooden panels, or paper, her paintings often highlight unusual shapes, or compelling aspects. Claire finds inspiration in the work of artists including William Scott, and Peter Lanyon, as well as other St Ives artists and many contemporary painters. Claire’s work has been shortlisted for the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy and exhibited at several galleries in London, it is also in private collections in the UK, France and Sweden.
