Caroline graduated from Bournemouth University in 2010 with a First Class Honours degree in Applied Art and Design, she began working in her chosen medium of anodised aluminium in 2007. Caroline hand prints with her own unique designs created by developing potato prints in to sketches and then adapting them in photoshop, these are then made in to printing blocks using a light sensitive resin. She then dyes using industrial dyes and powder paints to vibrant effect to create a range of jewellery, home and garden accents and small scale sculpture. Caroline is constantly inspired by the beautiful Dorset Countryside it’s flora, fauna, insects and animals. She runs her business as a maker alongside working as an arts education officer at a popular contemporary craft venue in Dorset. This combination of pursuits has led Caroline to develop her role as a workshop tutor, she now runs regular creative classes using?colourful aluminium, as well as outreach work and community projects with local schools and children’s groups. Projects have included giant swarms of butterflies adorning public spaces and school grounds, and laser cut designs hung in the garden of a children’s?hospice. Caroline was pleased to be selected to be part of the Fresh Air sculpture exhibition at Quenington in Gloucestershire during 2013, this opened up a whole new area to her creative designs and the opportunity to work on a much larger scale.
