No profile picture

Alexandra Lacey studied Foundation Art at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and then took a degree in Textiles at Middlesex University. Since then she has worked independently, producing printed textile pieces including wall hangings, quilts, cushions, chairs and a whole range of clothing as well as working on a freelance basis for Habitat, Conran and Marks and Spencer. She has sold her work to textile houses in New York and Germany as well as various galleries and shops in the United Kingdom. During the nineties Alex took time out to have a family while continuing to develop her work, studying Fine Art at the Open College of the Arts, eventually becoming one of their tutors. She now concentrates on painting, textiles and surface decoration while accepting private commissions. Her influences come from nature and landscape, from people and from words, which can trigger an idea, image or design.
